Immunoprecipitation: GCFC2 Antibody [NBP1-05985] - Detection of human GCF by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HEK293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-GCF antibody NBP1-05985 used for IP at 3 ug per reaction. GCF was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-GCF antibody NBP1-05984. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: GCFC2

The first mRNA transcript isolated for this gene was part of an artificial chimera derived from two distinct gene transcripts and a primer used in the cloning process (see Genbank accession M29204). A positively charged amino terminus present only in the chimera was determined to bind GC-rich DNA, thus mistakenly thought to identify a transcription factor gene. [provided by RefSeq]
