Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Geminin Antibody (8H8) [NBP3-15158] - Immunofluorescence staining of Hela Cells with at Geminin antibody 1:50, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeated by 0.2% TritonX-100, and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4C. Nuclear DNA was labeled in blue with DAPI. The secondary antibody was FITC-conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L).Applications for Geminin Antibody (8H8)

Background: Geminin
Geminin prevents DNA replication by blocking the MCM complex incorporation into prereplication complex (pre-RC). It is absent during the G1 phase and accumulates during the S, G2, and M phases of mitosis. Geminin is then degraded during the metaphase-anaphase trasitio,n allowing replication to occur during subsequent cycles.
Geminin antibodies are useful tools for a variety of research including developmental embryology, stem cell differentiation, neuroscience, and DNA replication studies.
