Description

CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Background: Glutathione S-transferase Mu 5

The GSTM5 (glutathione S-transferase Mu 5) gene codes for a 218 amino acid long, 25 kDA protein that functions as a catalyst in various reactions in eukaryotes and prokaryotes such as converting reduced gluthathione to a large number of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles. GSTM5 has been linked to various diseases such as hypertension, hepatitis, adenocarcinoma, breast cancer, coronary heart disease, and hypertension. GSTM5 participates in gluthione metabolism and conjugation as well as metapathway biotransformation and has been known to interact with various genes such as CYP1A1, CYP1B1, CYP2B6, CYP2C19, and ALDH1A3.
