Detection of Human ADAM22 antibody by Western Blot.

Detection of Human ADAM22 by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of human brain (motor cortex) tissue, human brain (cerebellum) tissue, Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line (negative control), and HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (negative control). PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human ADAM22 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB49081) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). Specific bands were detected for ADAM22 at approximately 75 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: ADAM22

Human ADAM22 is a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family of metalloproteases. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins. They have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, such as fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. ADAM22 is highly expressed in the brain and may function as an integrin ligand in the brain. The amino acid sequence of human ADAM22 is 100%, 96% and 92% identical to that of chimpanzee, dog and mouse.
