Background: CD151
CD151 is a tetraspanin superfamily glycoprotein expressed by endothelium, epithelia, megakaryocytes, and platelets. It associates with other tetraspanin proteins and with some integrins including alpha3/ beta1, alpha6/ beta1, alpha6/ beta4, and alpha7/ beta1. CD151 modulates cellular adhesion, cell migration, and platelet activation.
