Scientific Data Images for katanin-p80 Antibody

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: katanin-p80 Antibody [NBP1-87413]

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: katanin-p80 Antibody [NBP1-87413]

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: katanin-p80 Antibody [NBP1-87413] - Katanin p60 and p80 expression in the mouse testis. Immunohistochemical localization of katanin p60 (right) and p80 (left) in the mouse seminiferous epithelium. Katanin subunits?=?red, alpha-tubulin?=?green, nuclei?=?blue. Both katanin subunits were prominently localized to elongating spermatids (arrowheads). Katanin p60 was also visible in Sertoli cell nuclei (SC). The inset in each micrograph shows a control for the secondary antibody (primary antibody substituted with buffer). Image collected and cropped by CiteAb from the following publication (https://dx.plos.org/10.1371/journal.pgen.1002698), licensed under a CC-BY license.

Background: katanin-p80

Microtubules, polymers of alpha and beta tubulin subunits, form the mitotic spindle of a dividing cell and help toorganize membranous organelles during interphase. Katanin is a heterodimer that consists of a 60 kDa ATPase (p60subunit A 1) and an 80 kDa accessory protein (p80 subunit B 1). The p60 subunit acts to sever and disassemblemicrotubules, while the p80 subunit targets the enzyme to the centrosome. Katanin is a member of the AAA family ofATPases. (provided by RefSeq)

Alternate Names

KAT, katanin (80 kDa), katanin p80 (WD repeat containing) subunit B 1, katanin p80 (WD40-containing) subunit B 1, Katanin p80 subunit B1, katanin p80 WD40-containing subunit B1, p80 katanin
