Scientific Data Images for LGTN Antibody

Western Blot: LGTN Antibody [NBP1-50038]

Western Blot: LGTN Antibody [NBP1-50038]

Western Blot: LGTN Antibody [NBP1-50038] - Detection of Human Ligatin by Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 mcg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) and 293T (T; 50 mcg) cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Ligatin antibody used for WB at 0.1 mcg/ml (A) and 1 mcg/ml (B) and used for IP at 6 mcg/mg lysate. Ligatin was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Ligatin antibody BL10965, which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated Ligatin, the ReliaBLOT(R) Reagents and Procedures were used. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes (A) and 30 seconds (B).

Background: LGTN

This gene encodes a protein receptor that localizes phosphoglycoproteins within endosomes and at the cell periphery. This trafficking receptor for phosphoglycoproteins may play a role in neuroplasticity by modulating cell-cell interactions, intracellular adhesion, and protein binding at membrane surfaces. In hippocampal neurons, long-lasting down-regulation of ligatin mRNA levels occurs via post-transcriptional RNA processing following glutamate receptor activation. This protein contains single PUA and SUI1 domains and these domains may function in RNA binding and translation initiation, respectively.

Alternate Names

eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2D, HCA56eIF2d, Hepatocellular carcinoma-associated antigen 56, LGTNLigatin, ligatin
