Scientific Data Images for Monoamine Oxidase B Antibody

Western Blot: Monoamine Oxidase B Antibody [NBP1-59569]

Western Blot: Monoamine Oxidase B Antibody [NBP1-59569]

Western Blot: Monoamine Oxidase B Antibody [NBP1-59569] - Mice were pretreated with 5ECdsAP1 aptamer before amphetamine application; tissue samples collected (n = 4 per group) from the VTA at 90 (60 + 30 min) and 180 (60 + 30 + 90 min) minutes after amphetamine. Protein was obtained for Western blot quantitation of MAO-A level using Actin (lower molecular fragments) as a reference shown in lanes 2-4 (90 min samples) or lane 5-6 (180 min). Total protein (10 ug) was used for all lanes except lanes 7 & 9. The blot was stripped and used for MAO-B. Lane 1: molecular size marker of 10 KD ladder; lane 2: 5ECdsAP1 (4 nmol/kg, icv, 1/2 dose); lanes 3 & 5: saline (2 ul, icv); lanes 4 & 6: 5ECdsAP1 (8 nmol/kg, icv); lanes 7, 8, 9 are controls of naive mice with no aptamer or amphetamine (5, 10 and 20 ug protein). Background: Monoamine Oxidase B

MAOB belongs to the flavin monoamine oxidase family. It is a enzyme located in the mitochondrial outer membrane. It catalyzes the oxidative deamination of biogenic and xenobiotic amines and plays an important role in the metabolism of neuroactive and vasoactive amines in the central nervous sysytem and peripheral tissues. This protein preferentially degrades benzylamine and phenylethylamine. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the flavin monoamine oxidase family.
