Background: CD2F-10/SLAMF9
CD2F-10, also known as SLAM (signalling lymphocyte activation molecule) family member 9 (SLAMF9), is a type I transmembrane (TM) protein that belongs to the SLAM (CD150)/CD2 subset of the Ig superfamily. The CD2F-10 extracellular region contains two Ig-like domains, one V-type at the N-terminus and a C2-type adjacent to the TM segment. The cytoplasmic domain does not have a SAP (SLAM-associated protein) motif characteristic of other SLAM/CD2 subset members. The mouse CD2F-10 extracellular region shows 82% aa sequence identity with the rat CD2F-10 extracellular region and 61% aa sequence identity with both human and bovine CD2F-10 extracellular regions.
