Background: MRPL53

MRPL53, also known as Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L53, consists of a 112 amino acid isoform that is 12 kDa, and is involved in the process of mitochondrial protein synthesis. MRPL53 is not currently linked to any diseases or disorders. The protein interacts with several other proteins, including BABAM1, MYC, USP44, and YBX1.
