Immunoprecipitation:MTUS1 AntibodyNBP3-29934] -Detection of human MTUS1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-MTUS1 antibody NBP3-29934 used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. MTUS1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-MTUS1., which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated MTUS1, was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Background: MTUS1

MTUS1 encodes a protein which contains a C-terminal domain able to interact with the angiotension II (AT2) receptor and a large coiled-coil region allowing dimerization. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. One of the transcript variants has been shown to encode a mitochondrial protein that acts as a tumor suppressor and partcipates in AT2 signaling pathways. Other variants may encode nuclear or transmembrane proteins but it has not been determined whether they also participate in AT2 signaling pathways.
