Product Summary for non-muscle Myosin IIA Antibody

Immunogen

non-muscle Myosin IIA synthetic peptide (coupled to KLH) corresponding to amino acid residues in the C-terminal region of human non-muscle heavy chain. This peptide sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse non-muscle Myosin IIA, but is not found in non-muscle Myosin IIB and is not well conserved in non-muscle Myosin IIC. [UniProt# P35579]

Specificity

The antibody detects a 200 kDa protein corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of non-muscle Myosin IIA on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431, Jurkat, mouse C2C12, and rat PC12 cells.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Host

Rabbit

Isotype

IgG

Theoretical MW

200 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Description

Stable for at least 1 year at -20°C.

non-muscle Myosin IIA Antibody

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: non-muscle Myosin IIA Antibody [NBP3-23426] -

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: non-muscle Myosin IIA Antibody [NBP3-23426] - Immunocytochemical labeling of Slingshot-1L in rat PC12 cells differentiated with NGF. The cells were labeled with rabbit polyclonal anti-Myosin IIA Heavy Chain (a.a. 1936-1950), then detected using appropriate secondary antibody conjugated to Cy3. The antibody was used in the absence (left) or presence (right) of blocking peptide.

Western Blot: non-muscle Myosin IIA Antibody [NBP3-23426] -

Western Blot: non-muscle Myosin IIA Antibody [NBP3-23426] - Western blot image of human A431 cells. The blots were untreated (lanes 1 & 3) or treated with lambda phosphatase (lanes 2 & 4), then probed with rabbit polyclonal Myosin IIA Heavy Chain (Ser-1943), phospho-specific antibody (lanes 1 & 2) or rabbit polyclonal Myosin IIA Heavy Chain (a.a. 1936-1950) antibody (lanes 3 & 4).

Background: Non-muscle Myosin IIA

The non-muscle Myosin IIA gene encodes a myosin IIA heavy chain that contains an IQ domain and a myosin head-like domain. The protein is involved in several important functions, including cytokinesis, cell motility and maintenance of cell shape. Defects in MYH9 are the cause
