Immunogen
PTP1B/PTPN1 synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier protein) corresponds to amino acids from the N-terminal region of human PTP1B/PTPN1. This sequence has significant homology to the conserved site in rat and mouse PTP1B/PTPN1, and has homology to TC-PTP and MPTP, but not other protein tyrosine phosphatase family members. [UniProt# P18031]
Specificity
The antibody detects a 50 kDa band corresponding to PTP1B/PTPN1 in western blots of human A431, Jurkat, HeLa, and mouse SYF cells. This reactivity can be specifically blocked using PTP1B/PTPN1 (a.a. 146-157) peptide.
