Product Specifications

Immunogen

RAPGEF3 antibody was raised against an 18 amino acid synthetic peptide near the amino terminus of human RAPGEF3. The immunogen is located within amino acids 60 - 110 of RAPGEF3. Amino Acid Squence: WTPLTNSEESLDFSESLE

Specificity

At least two isoforms of RAPGEF3 are known to exist; this antibody will detect both isoforms. RAPGEF3 antibody is predicted to not cross-react with EPAC2.

Background: RAPGEF3

RAPGEF3, also known as Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor 3, is a 104 kDa 923 amino acid protein with two shorter isoforms produced by alternative splicing. The gene is necessary for rearranging actin at cell to cell junctions. RAPGEF3 is currently being studied for its involvement with leukemia, melanoma, pancreatitis, thyroiditis, carcinoma, prostatitis and neuronitis. RAPGEF3 is linked to the chemotaxis, cell adhesion, insulin secretion, and immune system pathways where it interacts with GNAI2, GNAI1, PDE3B, RAP1A and RAP1B.

Long Name

Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor 3

Alternate Names

cAMP-GEFI, CGEF1, EPAC, EPAC 1, EPAC1
