Knockout Validated: S100A4 Antibody (1F11) - BSA Free [NBP2-36430]

Knockout Validated: S100A4 Antibody (1F11) - BSA Free [NBP2-36430]

Knockout Validated: S100A4 Antibody (1F11) [NBP2-36430] - Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma parental cell line and S100A4 knockout (KO) HeLa cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with Mouse Anti-Human S100A4 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # NBP2-36430) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rabbit IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog #HAF008). Specific band was detected for S100A4 at approximately 12 kDa (as indicated) in the parental HeLa cell line, but is not detectable in the knockout HeLa cell line. This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions.

Background: S100A4

S100A4 belongs to the S100 super-family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium binding domains. This protein is ubiquitously overexpressed and is localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus. S100A4 may play a role in motility, invasion, and tubulin polymerization. Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression of the S100A4 have been implicated in tumor metastasis. Recombinant mouse S100A4 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
