Immunoprecipitation:SEC24B AntibodyNBP3-30087] -Detection of human SEC24B by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-SEC24B antibody NBP3-30087 (lot NBP3-30087-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. SEC24B was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-SEC24B antibodies A304-876A and A304-878A. For blotting immunoprecipitated SEC24B, NBP3-30087 was used at 0.4 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Background: SEC24B

The protein encoded by the SEC24B gene is a member of the SEC24 subfamily of the SEC23/SEC24 family, which is involved in vesicle trafficking. The encoded protein has similarity to yeast Sec24p component of COPII. COPII is the coat protein complex responsible for vesicle budding from the ER. The role of this gene product is implicated in the shaping of the vesicle, and also in cargo selection and concentration. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. (provided by RefSeq)
