Immunoprecipitation: SGOL2 Antibody [NB100-60454] - Detection of Human SGO2 by Western Blot of Immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-SGO2 antibody NB100-60454 used for IP at 3 mcg/mg lysate. SGO2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-SGO2 antibody NB100-60455, which recognizes a downstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: SGOL2

Shugoshin-like 2 (SGO2) is a member of the shugoshin (SGO) family of proteins which plays a role in preventing premature release of the cohesin complex from centromeres during prophase and mitosis. The SGO family of proteins is evolutionarily conserved across eukaryotes and is central to the maintenance of genomic stability.
