This SM047 antibody is useful for Western blot, Immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence and Immunoprecipitation. In Western blot a band can be seen above 200 kDa. For IHC-P, trypsin antigen retrieval is recommended (0.1%, 37C 10 min).

Background: SM047

SM047 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to an epitope on a multivalent antigen which is associated with the glycocalyx of ovarian carcinoma (OvC) cells and a limited variety of other malignant and normal tissue. SM047 is strongly expressed in most ovarian serous adenocarcinomas and in other female genital tract adenocarcinomas. However, it does not react with ovarian mucinous tumors. The SM047 antibody may be useful in confirming the origin of an ovarian adenocarcinoma. See PMID: 11422498 for additional information on SM047.
