TAB1 interacts with and regulates TAK1 (TGF-beta-activated kinase 1). TAK1 is a MAP kinase kinase kinase that regulates MAP kinase activity in TGF-beta-induced signaling pathways. TAB1 has also been shown to interact with and activate MAPK14/p38alpha.
