Background: TMEM37

The TMEM37 gene codes for a 190 amino acid long, 20 kDA transmembrane protein that is thought to stabilize the calcium channel in an inactivated state and monitors calcium current when coexpressed with CACNA1G. The TMEM37 gene is associated with food allergies, leukemia, and neuronitis and has been known to interact with genes HBP1, MPP3, ORM1, TNFRSF14, and TNFRSF11A. It plays a role in the MAPK signaling pathway.

Alternate Names

Neuronal voltage-gated calcium channel gamma-like subunit, transmembrane protein 37PRPR1, voltage-dependent calcium channel gamma subunit-like protein, voltage-dependent calcium channel gamma-like subunit
