Species Reactivity

Mouse

Applications

Dot Blot, ELISA, Immunoblotting, Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence, Western Blot

Label

Unconjugated

Antibody Source

Polyclonal Rabbit

LYOPH mg/ml

Product Specifications

Immunogen

Pools of purified homogenous IgG3 isolated from pooled mouse serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Reactivity Notes

This IgG fraction is not species-specific since inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antisera to immunoglobulins. Cross-reactivity of this product has not been tested in detail.

Specificity

The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the subclass IgG3. It does not react with other subclasses of IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in mouse serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Host

Rabbit

Description

The lyophilized conjugate is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at 4C; prolonged storage at or below -20C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at 4C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the immunoconjugate.

Background: IgG3

R&D Systems offers a range of secondary antibodies and controls for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and Western blotting. We provide species-specific secondary antibodies that are available with a variety of conjugated labels.

Our NorthernLights fluorescent secondary antibodies are bright and resistant to photobleaching. We are currently offering secondary antibodies recognizing mouse, rat, goat, sheep, and rabbit IgG as well as chicken IgY. These reagents are available with three distinct excitation and emission maxima, making them ideal for multi-color fluorescence microscopy.
