ASB7: Lysates

ASB7 is a member of the ankyrin repeat and SOCS box family. Within the SOCS box of the ASB proteins are the BC and Cul5 boxes, via which ASB proteins including ASB7 interact with Cul5-Rbx2 as part of some E3 ubiquitin (Ub) ligase complexes. It is thought that the SOCS-containing ASB proteins function as the substrate recognition component of these complexes. E3 Ub ligases label proteins with Ub to target them for degradation by the proteasome.
