The protein is being studied for its involvement in neuronitis. FBXW9 has been shown to have interactions with SKP1, COPS6 and UBC in association of TriC/CCT with target proteins during biosynthesis, chaperonin-mediated protein folding, metabolism of proteins, and protein folding pathways.
