TAFA2/FAM19A2: Lysates

TAFA2, also known as FAM19A2, is a member of the FAM19/TAFA family of proteins that are differentially expressed in the brain. TAFA2 is transcribed as a 131 amino acid (aa) precursor with a predicted molecular weight of 14.6 kDa. Human TAFA2 shares 97% aa sequence identity with the mouse ortholog. Similar to chemokine ligands, TAFA2 contains a conserved CC motif, and it appears to be distantly related to CCL3/MIP-1alpha. TAFA2 is abundantly expressed in the central nervous system; however, low levels of TAFA2 have also been detected in multiple organs including colon, heart, lung, spleen, kidney, and thymus.
