Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: Aldo-keto Reductase 1C1/AKR1C1 Antibody (5-F10-R) [NBP3-32014] - Immunocytochemistry analysis of HeLa cells labeling Aldo-keto Reductase 1C1/AKR1C1 with Mouse anti-Aldo-keto Reductase 1C1/AKR1C1 antibody (NBP3-32014) at 1/100 dilution.

Cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde for 20 minutes at room temperature, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS for 5 minutes at room temperature, then blocked with 1% BSA in 10% negative goat serum for 1 hour at room temperature. Cells were then incubated with Mouse anti-Aldo-keto Reductase 1C1/AKR1C1 antibody (NBP3-32014) at 1/100 dilution in 1% BSA in PBST overnight at 4 ℃. Goat Anti-Mouse IgG H&L (iFluor™ 488) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the secondary antibody only control. Nuclear DNA was labelled in blue with DAPI.

beta Tubulin (red) was stained at 1/100 dilution overnight at +4℃. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (iFluor™ 594) were used as the secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution.

Background: Aldo-keto Reductase 1C1/AKR1C1

AKR1C1 encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which consists of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. These enzymes catalyze the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to their corresponding alcohols by utilizing NADH and/or NADPH as cofactors. The enzymes display overlapping but distinct substrate specificity. This enzyme catalyzes the reaction of progesterone to the inactive form 20-alpha-hydroxy-progesterone. This gene shares high sequence identity with three other gene members and is clustered with those three genes at chromosome 10p15-p14.

Long Name

Aldo-keto Reductase Family 1, Member C1

Alternate Names

2-ALPHA-HSD, 20-ALPHA-HSD, AKR1C1, AldoketoReductase 1C1, DDH1, HAKRC, HBAB
