Immunohistochemistry: Caspase-8 Antibody [NB100-56116]

Immunohistochemistry: Caspase-8 Antibody - (active/cleaved) [NB100-56116] - Autophagy-deficient mice showed increased activity of apoptosis and necroptosis. Reduced pancreatic Atg7 level increased the expression of Caspase-8 in 12-week-old Atg7deltapan mice. Caspase-8 quantitation and representative IF microphotographs of Atg7F/F (n=5) and Atg7deltapan (n=5) pancreatic tissue stained for DAPI (blue) and Caspase-8 (green) ( 1/1000, scale bar=50 um). Background: Caspase-8

The caspase family of cysteine proteases has been shown to play a key role in apoptosis. Apoptosis occurs during normal cellular development and involves dramatic changes in cellular structure. Disruption of apoptosis may contribute to cancer as well as other autoimmune diseases.Caspase-8 is a 55 kDa cytosolic protein that is synthesized as an inactive pro-enzyme. Activation of caspase-8 involves a two-step proteolysis: the cleavage of caspase-8 to generate a 43 and a 12 kDa fragment which is further processed to 10 kDa. The p43 is then cleaved to yield p26 and the release of the active site containing p18.
