Scientific Data Images for CD21 Antibody (SC0681)

Western Blot: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605]

Western Blot: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605]

Western Blot: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605] - Analysis of CD21 on Daudi celllysates. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody ( 1/500) was used in 5% BSA at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1:5,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.
Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605]

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605]

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605] - Staining CD21 in HepG2 cells (green). The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilised with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS.
Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605]

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605]

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: CD21 Antibody (SC0681) [NBP2-67605] - Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human tonsil tissue using anti-CD21 antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 8.0-8.4) for 20 minutes. The tissues were blocked in 5% BSA for 30 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody (ET1610-61, 1/50) for 30 minutes at room temperature. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Background: CD21

CD21 (complement receptor 2, CR2) binds C3 complement fragments, especially its breakdown fragments, which remain covalently attached to complement activating surfaces or antigen. CD21 has important roles in uptake and retention of immunocomplexes, survival of memory B cells and in development and maintenance of the humoral response to T-dependent antigens. CD21 also serves as a key receptor for Epstein-Barr virus binding and is involved in targeting prions to folicular dendritic cells and expediting neuroinvasion following peripheral exposure to prions. A soluble form of the CD21 (sCD21) is shed from the lymphocyte surface and retains its ability to bind respective ligands.
