Background: CDIP

CDIP, Cell Death Involved p53-target (also known as LITAF-like protein), induces apoptosis. The CDIP gene is upregulated by p53, and CDIP is an effector of p53-dependent apoptosis, but this proceeds via caspase-8 cleavage and TNF-alpha; it is therefore a link between the intrinsic and extrinsic pathways of apoptosis.

Alternate Names

CDIP, cell death inducing protein, Cell death-inducing protein, chromosome 16 open reading frame 5, I1, LITAF-like protein, Transmembrane protein I1

Gene Symbol

CDIP1
