Scientific Data Images for Human Akt3 Antibody
Detection of Human Akt3 by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of DU145 human prostate carcinoma cell line and MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Human Akt3 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1463) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for Akt3 at approximately 60 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 3.Applications for Human Akt3 Antibody

Background: Akt3
Akt3 (v-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homolog 3), also known as protein kinase B gamma (PKB gamma) and RAC-gamma serine/threonine kinase (RAC-PK-gamma), is a member of the Akt family that also includes Akt1 (PKB alpha) and Akt2 (PKB beta). These highly homologous kinases are central in such diverse cellular processes as glucose uptake, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis. All three Akts contain an amino-terminal pleckstrin homology domain, a central kinase domain, and a carboxyl-terminal regulatory domain.
