Scientific Data Images for Human/Rat IkB-beta Antibody

Detection of Human IkB-beta antibody by Western Blot.

Detection of Human IkB‑ beta by Western Blot.

Western blot shows recombinant human Ik beta-a, IkB-beta, and IkB-e (20 ng/lane). PVDF mem-brane was probed with 1 µg/mL Mouse Anti-Human/Rat IkB-beta Mono-clonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3425) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band for Human/Rat IkB-beta was detected at approximately 48-50 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 3.

Background: IkB-beta

NF kappaB inhibitor beta (IkB-beta) inhibits the NF kappaB complex by binding and sequestering it in the cytoplasm. Upon stimulation, IkB-beta is phosphorylated on serine residues marking it for degradation by the ubiquitin pathway. Following IkB-beta degradation, the NF kappaB complex is able to translocate to the nucleus and activate transcription.
