Solute Carrier, family 5 (sodium iodide symporter), member 5 (SLC5A5) is a multi-pass symporter for sodiom/iodide uptake.  SLC5A5 is mainly expressed in thyroid follicular cells, and it promotes tumor cell invasiveness.
