Specificity
This antibody is specific for human IFN-alpha 2 and does not cross react with human IFN-alpha 1. It reacts with linear peptide 43aa-53aa, placing the epitope outside the immunodominant regions I and II.

Application Notes
N27 is one of many MoAbs described by Kontsek et al. (1991) directed against a site different from the two immunodominant sites called I and II. As such it is against an "atypical" site of the molecule. Peptide mapping for N27 has been done by Kontsek et al. Not recommended for IHC-paraffin sections.
Please Note: Optimal dilutions of this antibody should be experimentally determined.
