Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3 Antibody [NBP3-06855] - HeLa cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes and permeabilized in 0.5% Triton X-100 in PBS for 5 minutes. The cells were incubated with anti-JMJD3 NBP3-06855 at 2 ug/ml overnight at 4C and detected with an anti-rabbit Dylight 488 (Green) at a 1:1000 dilution for 60 minutes. Cells were imaged using a 100X objective and digitally deconvolved.

Background: Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B

JMJD3 is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates trimethylated and dimethylated 'Lys-27' of histone H3, thereby playing a central role in histone code. It plays a central role in regulation of posterior development by regulating HOX gene expression. JMJD3 is involved in inflammatory response by participating in macrophage differentiation in case of inflammation by regulating gene expression and macrophage differentiation. It has shown to be essential to mammalian epidermal differentiation and is upregulated in prostate cancer.
