Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: MN1 Antibody [NBP3-06351] - Immunofluorescence staining of MN1 in U2OS cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS,blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with rabbit anti-Human MN1 polyclonal antibody (dilution ratio 1:200) at 4 degrees celsius overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor (TM) 488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (green). Positive staining was localized to Nucleus.

Background: MN1

The MN1 gene, which resides on chromosome 22, encodes a 1,319 amino acid protein. The ETV6/TEL gene has been reported to fuse to MN1. The MN1-TEL fusion protein, encoded by the translocation (12;22)(p13;q11) in myeloid leukemia, is a transcription factor with transforming activity. Defects in MN1 (meningioma 1) may be a cause of meningiomas, slowly growing benign tumors derived from the arachnoidal cap cells of the leptomeninges, the soft coverings of the brain and spinal cord.

Alternate Names

dJ353E16.2, meningioma (disrupted in balanced translocation) 1, meningioma (translocation balanced), meningioma chromosome region, meningioma chromosome region 1, MGCR, MGCR1, MGCR1-PEN, probable tumor suppressor protein MN1
