Background: Exostosin-like 2/EXTL2

EXTL2 is a type II golgi membrane protein with a C-terminal lumenal region that contains the catalytic domain. It is a glycosyl transferase that is required for the biosynthesis of heparan sulfate. The lumenal region of mouse EXTL2 shares 90% and 86% aa sequence identity with the canine and human proteins, respectively.
