Background: Integrin beta 7

Integrin beta7 associates with the integrin alpha4 or alphaE subunits to form heterodimers to interact with fibronectin, VCAM, MAdCAM or E-Cadherin. It is highly expressed in leukocytes and is involved in localization of leukocytes at mucosal sites.
