Immunoprecipitation: non-muscle heavy chain 10 Myosin Antibody [NBP1-18931] - Detection of human Myosin-10 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Myosin-10 antibody NBP1-18931 used for IP at 3 ug/mg lysate. Myosin-10 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Myosin-10 antibody NBP1-18932, which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated Myosin-10, NBP1-18931 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: non-muscle heavy chain 10 Myosin

Myosin II is a hexameric protein that consist of a pair of heavy chain subunits (MHC), a pair of essential light chain subunits (MLC), and a pair of regulatory light chain subunits (RLCs). Non-muscle myosin heavy chain II-B is encoded by the myosin heavy chain 10 gene (MYH10) and non-muscle myosin heavy chain II-A is encoded by the Myosin heavy chain 9 gene (MYH9). Myosin in non-muscle cells is involved in motile cellular processes which include cytokinesis, cell shape, secrection, and capping. Alternate names for Myosin-10 is Myosin heavy chain II-B, cellular myosin heavy chain type B, and NMMHCB.
