Background: Rif1

RAP1 interacting factor (RIF1) localizes to dysfunctional telomeres and functions in the S-phase checkpoint. In response to double-stranded breaks (DSBs), RIF1 functions in the ATM and ATR mediated response to DNA damage. RIF1 foci formation in response to DNA damage is completely dependent on ATM. Alternate names for RIF1 include telomere-associated protein RIF1, Rap1-interacting factor 1 homolog, FLJ12870, and DKFZp781N1478.

Alternate Names

DKFZp434D1026, DKFZp781N1478, FLJ10599, FLJ12870, RAP1 interacting factor homolog (yeast), Rap1-interacting factor 1 homolog, telomere-associated protein RIF1
