Immunoprecipitation:SLBP AntibodyNBP3-29878] -Detection of human SLBP by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP; 20% of IP loaded) from HEK293T cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-SLBP antibody NBP3-29878 (lot NBP3-29878-1) used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. SLBP was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-SLBP antibody BL14232. For blotting immunoprecipitated SLBP, NBP3-29878 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: SLBP

SLBP encodes a protein that binds to the stem-loop structure in replication-dependent histone mRNAs. Histone mRNAs do not contain introns or polyadenylation signals, and are processed by endonucleolytic cleavage. The stem-loop structure is essential for efficient processing but this structure also controls the transport, translation and stability of histone mRNAs. Expression of the protein is regulated during the cell cycle, increasing more than 10-fold during the latter part of G1.
