Product Specifications
Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunizing mice with stimulated human leukocytes.
Specificity
This antibody is specific against SR-BI. The antibody recognises an epitope between amino acids 155 - 183. SR-BI is a receptor for different ligands such as phospholipids, cholesterol ester, lipoproteins, phosphatidylserine and apoptotic cells. It acts as a receptor for hepatitis C virus in hepatocytes and appears to facilitate its cell entry as well as mediates uptake of M. fortuitum, E. coli and S. aureus.
Clonality
Monoclonal

Western Blot: SR-BI Antibody (185-1G2 (B467)) - Chimeric [NBP3-12073] - Human peripheral blood monocyte cell lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) was resolved on a SDS PAGE gel and blots were probed with the chimeric rabbit version of 185-1G2 (B467) (NBP3-12073) at 0.03 ug/ml before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. A primary incubation of 1h was used and protein was detected by chemiluminescence.Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: SR-BI Antibody (185-1G2 (B467)) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-12073]
Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: SR-BI Antibody (185-1G2 (B467)) - Chimeric [NBP3-12073] - Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells on Shi-fix(TM) coverslips stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version of 185-1G2 (B467) (NBP3-12073) at 10 ug/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor(R) 488 secondary antibody (2 ug/ml), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom NBP3-12073, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody followed by staining with Alexa Fluor(R) 488 secondary antibody.Applications for SR-BI Antibody (185-1G2 (B467)) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free

Background: SR-BI
At least 5 different human splice variants have been identified with theoretical molecular weights ranging from 60.9 kDa for the canonical sequence to 45 kDa for an N-terminally truncated variant (SR-BII) (3). The extracellular domain of human SR-BI (CLA-1) shares 80%, 80%, 89%, 86% and 84% aa sequence identity with mouse, rat, porcine, rabbit, and bovine SR-BI, respectively. SR-BI is highly glycosylated and removal of N-linked glycosylation reduces lipid transport.
