Background: CCL17/TARC

Human CCL17 also known as thymus and activation-related chemokine (TARC) is encoded by the CCL17 gene located on the chromosome 16 in humans. It is expressed by thymus cells constitutively and phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells transiently. CCL17 signals through the chemokine receptors CCR4 and CCR8 and displays chemotactic activity for T lymphocytes and some other leukocytes. It plays an important role in skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, bullous pemphigoid and mycosis fungoides. CCL17 has approximately 24 - 29 % amino acid sequence identity with RANTES, MIP-1alpha, MIP-1beta, MCP-1, MCP-2, MCP-3 and I-309.

Product Specific Notices for Recombinant Human CCL17/TARC Protein

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. This product is guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.
