This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Purity

>95%, by SDS-PAGE and HPLC

Endotoxin Level

Less than 0.1 EU/ug of CD23/Fc epsilon RII as determined by LAL method.

Predicted Molecular Mass

19.2 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Activity

CD23 Protein is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 determined by its ability to induce TNF-alpha production by human PBMCs.

Background: CD23/Fc epsilon RII

CD23 is a type 2 transmembrane C-type lectin that binds IgE, CD21, CD11b and CD11c. It is expressed on a variety of hematopoietic cells and functions in allergic immune responses. Recombinant human sCD23 is a 19.2 kDa non-glycosylated protein containing 172 amino-acid residues.
