Formulation, Preparation and Storage

NBP1-97061
Preparation Method This product was prepared from normal serum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation, ion exchange chromatography and papain digestion followed by chromatographic separation and extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Rabbit IgG F(c) fragment assayed by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum, anti-Rabbit IgG and anti-Rabbit IgG F(c). No reaction was observed against anti-Rabbit IgG F(ab')2 or anti-Papain.
Formulation 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2
Preservative 0.01% Sodium Azide
Concentration Please see the vial label for concentration. If unlisted please contact technical services.
Shipping The product is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Background: Rabbit IgG, Fc

Secreted as part of the adaptive immune response by plasma B cells, immunoglobulin G constitutes 75% of serum immunoglobulins. Immunoglobulin G binds to viruses, bacteria, as well as fungi and facilitates their destruction or neutralization via agglutination (and thereby immobilizing them), activation of the compliment cascade, and opsonization for phagocytosis. The F(c) fragment binds with very high affinity to the Fc receptor proteins on phagocytic leukocytes. When digested from the whole antibody molecule, the F(c) fragment no longer possesses the epitope recognition site. Rabbit IgG F(c) fragment is ideal for investigators in Immunology, Cancer, and Microbiology research.
