cIAP1 is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAPs) family of proteins. It is up-regulated in several human cancers and plays an important role in tumor survival. cIAP1 functions to prevent cellular apoptosis by preventing the activation and/or inhibiting the function of diff erent caspases.
