CRLR: Proteins and Enzymes

CRLR belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor 2 family and is predominantly expressed in the lung and heart. Active receptors are formed by the heterodimers of CRLR and RAMP1, RAMP2 or RAMP3. CRLR is a receptor for calcitonin-gene-related peptide (CGRP) together with RAMP1 and receptor for adrenomedullin together with RAMP2 or RAMP3. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase.
