GMF-beta: Lysates

GMF-beta is a brain-specific protein that was initially identified as a growth and differentiation factor involved in the maturation of neurons and glial cells. Subsequent studies showed that GMF-beta is also involved in signal transduction. GMF-beta can be phosphorylated in vitro by Protein Kinase A (PKA). PKA-phosphorylated GMF-beta is a potent inhibitor of ERK1/ERK2 activity, and is a strong enhancer of p38 MAP kinase activity in vitro.
