GPR31: cDNA Clones
GPR31 is a plasma membrane G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that displays high affinity for 12-lipoxygenase-derived product 12-(S)-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (12-(S)-HETE). Knocking down GPR31 specifically inhibited 12-(S)-HETE-stimulated cell invasion. The diverse biological activities mediated by 12-(S)-HETE suggest that it functions as a critical signaling molecule in the regulation of physiological processes. 12-(S)-HETE/GPR31 binding leads to the activation of ERK1/2, MEK, and NF-kB.
