MGST2: Lysates

Characterized as important mediators of inflammation, MGST2 (microsomal glutathione S-transferase 2) is an important regulator of leukotriene and glutathione. MGST2 belongs to the MAPEG (Membrane Associated Proteins in Eicosanoid and Glutathione metabolism) family of six human proteins. Several of these proteins are involved in the creation of leukotrienes and prostaglandin E. MGST2 catalyzes the production of LTC4 from LTA4 and reduced glutathione, and also catalyzes the conjugation of 1-chloro-2, 4-dinitrobenzene with reduced glutathione. Diseases associated with this gene include psoriasis, asthma, leukemia, prostatitis, breast cancer and progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis type 1.
