NCK1: Proteins and Enzymes

NCK1 and NCK2 (non-catalytic region of tyrosine kinases) are widely expressed and promiscuous SH2/SH3-containing adaptor proteins. More than 60 interaction partners have been described for NCKs, including both cytoplasmic and nuclear proteins. NCKs have partially overlapping expression and function and share approximately 70% amino acid sequence identity. NCK1 is particularly involved in connecting receptor tyrosine kinase activation to actin cytoskeleton rearrangement, for example in B and T cell receptor signaling.
