OR11H4: Proteins and Enzymes
Belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, Olfactory Receptor, Family 11, Subfamily H, Member 4 (OR11H4) is integral to the membrane. Sharing a 7-transmembrane domain structure with neurotransmitter and hormone receptors, these olfactory receptors recognize the G protein-mediated transduction of odorant signals in the nose. More specifically, these olfactory receptors initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of a smell. OR11H4 interacts with ADRBK2, ARRB2 and GNAL. Diseases associated with OR11H4 include renal cancer, epithelial neoplasia, cancer and neuronitis.
